Dear Friends and Visitors, When my doctor told me, "You have ALS," it was like he put a knife in my heart .I think I knew I had ALS -- after all I was a Physical Therapist and knew some of the symptoms. After 2 years of tests and no answers I knew it was serious. I wanted to ask the question, "How long do I have to live?" but I could not bring myself to ask it. I knew there was no cure and that it wasn't going to be an easy end. I knew we all were going to die someday but I never wanted it to be so definite. The first thing I did was go to the web for information. I was amazed how much information there was available. I then found out that the Musculature Dystrophy Association, (MDA) was the leading supporter of ALS research. And they also supported 40 other neuro-musculature diseases. So here I am 9 years later on a mission, with the help of my friends, to raise money for MDA and other organizations that raise money for ALS research. My friends went right to work and organized a golf tournament. The first year they raised 14,000 dollars and last year over 20,000 dollars. My colleagues at the University Of Buffalo, where I was a clinical instructor, founded a scholarship in my name. It goes to a student Physical Therapist who believes in my goals of helping people and educating the community. This year we gave our first two scholarships to well-deserved students. To date we have over 39,000 dollars in the fund. My daughter, Leanne put together this web site to help me achieve my goals of raising money and educating people about ALS. I encourage all ALS patients and their families to ask me any questions about Physical Therapy or adaptive equipment to make life easer. My daughters have been my mainstay-- my grandchildren my reason to go on. My friends are my motivation, and my wife my caregiver. I know what Lou Gehrig meant when he said, "Today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth". Hope you enjoy the site,
